Our God is a hidden God...

  1. Today I attended Mass at St. Mary's Church in Waltham (Mass.). It was very inspiring. I noticed in the Eucharistic Prayer that the Church in her Wisdom prays that "as we eat and drink the Body and Blood of Christ, we may be filled with the Holy Spirit." This is one of the many and one of the clearest ways of describing sanctifying grace. Why? Because the Prayer (capitalized because it is part of the sacred Liturgy of the Church, the mystical Body of Christ) says with hardly any room for misunderstanding: "filled with the Holy Spirit", emphasizing with clarity that God dwells within the soul of man, and that in receiving Him into us at Holy Mass (quite literally!), we invite Him anew to make our bodies His abode.
